And welcome, to The Pita Pocket! This is my inaugural entry for the pocket; let's get right down to business.
The Pita Pocket is a website! A website I've created. I'm typing this right now in an .html document! This will be a place to dump my brain slop for you and me to enjoy, a journal or blog of sorts. I'd like to keep the rules loose to maximize potential, creativity, freedom, etc. I hope this website grows in content and features as my experience in life and HTML grow.
Yet another good question. The Pita Pocket is all of us, The Pita Pocket is none of us. That sounds pretty cool. Well, maybe The Pita Pocket is just me. Who is me? You probably already know that, or can figure it out.
I've wanted to make a website for a while. In fact, I did about a year ago, but it was a stinky WordPress website that I threw together for a final class project. Although I didn't make that website from scratch code like this one, I am pretty happy with the content. I also liked the url: LegsBenedict.com. So, I've had a desire to make a website for a while. I also have website inspirations made by artists that I really like: here, here, and here. In particular, it's Otto Benson's wnoadiarwb.us that really made me want to make a website and actually spurred me, via the resources on there. As for the name, Pita Pocket comes from a text document on my desktop called usernames alongside other fun ideas as Legs Benedict, Silk Toad, Boatmeal, and Tamam (which is just okay in Turkish). However, Pita Pocket originally comes from my Aunt Joy's favorite local falafel joint: Pita Pocket Eatery. So, I've borrowed the name. I like the sound of it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The Pita Pocket is fine, thank you. I'm just joshin'. The Pita Pocket is made in HTML and hosted by Neocities. Its insite html editor is pretty handy. This website was created by crude html knowledge from Neocities, CodeAcademy, ChadGTP, reading Otto Benson's source code, and a healthy dose of boredom. In fact, most of what I've made so far I have done during my down time at work, while I wait for zebrafish larvae to incubate in various liquids for short bursts of time that I can't feasibly do any other lab work in. The very first homepage I made while learning HTML yesterday looked a little something like this:
Starting today, all falafel will have double the garlic: More Information
Go ahead and click that lil guy, he's got something to say. Anyway, I think that's all for now. Today is opening day for the MLB, can't wait to watch my Fightin' Phils. I have some plans in mind for what to do with this website in the future so stay tuned.
peace out pocket
-MJ
